FUN FIJI FACTS 3

Fiji is known as the "Soft Coral Capital of the World" and Rainbow Reef is a prime example of why it gained this reputation.  Rainbow Reef is located in the Somosomo Strait between the islands of Taveuni and Vanua Levu.  This magnificent reef is over 18 miles long and is host to a multitude of radiantly colored soft corals, as well as hard corals.  Marine life abounds and you will have a chance to spot species such as manta rays, barracudas, white tip sharks, butterfly fish, stone fish, long nose hawk fish and leopard sharks.  One of the most famous dive sites on this reef is the Great White Wall, an underwater escarpment covered in slightly luminescent white coral tinged with lavender.  Other well-known dive sites include Annie's Bommie and The Zoo.
